Greg Biolsi:

Guitarist/Vocalist/Songwriter/ Musical Director and Producer for live bands and recording sessions.

Originally from the Northern New Jersey, NYC music scene, Greg has been performing professionally for over 40 years; he now resides in Orange City Florida and continues to perform. Here is a brief look back that will also bring you up to date.

Learning to play guitar at the age of 14, his professional musical experience started in high school, playing and singing for dances. He also performed for local community events, later performing with local bands at various venues.

After leaving school, Greg became a member of "Horse Opera", an Original Eclectic Country Rock Band, that gained much interest from the New York City music scene during the late 70s early 80s.

Playing many of Manhattan’s hot spots, the band landed a trip to Oslo Norway to represent American country music at a SAS Airlines airport's grand opening. Also Horse Opera once opened for the Vince Gill fronted band Pure Prairie League at the Ritz Theater, Elizabeth N.J.

As the chances of HO getting the record deal they deserved slipped away, Greg and former bandmates formed a new band called "City Mountain Band". With Greg's songwriting & performing skills blossoming and new connections being made. By early '81, Greg started recording his original music. Along with the "CMB," he regained the attention of record executives, after winning a local contest to represent New Jersey in an "International Battle of the Bands" in Nashville, placing him/them within the top 5 bands.

CMB went on to open for top national recording artists Tammy Wynette, Lee Greenwood, Doug Kershaw, Vasser Clements, and others when they performed locally. CMB also landed a contract with a local agency that enabled them to work in the studio and perform with songwriting legend Erwin Levin who wrote most of Tony Orlando’s hits, Tie a Yellow Ribbon, Knock three times, Candita, and others.

Although the coveted record deal never happened, Greg's experience and talent compelled him to continue on, having interviews with Tony Bonjove (Jon's Uncle) and other record company A&R executives during the early 90s all the while performing local shows with various popular cover bands.

As life demanded him to settle down Greg worked a full-time job (now retired) but he never stopped his enjoyment of performing at the local venues. He is still entertaining hundreds of people here in Florida with local musicians and playing solo.

Although Greg has performed mostly country and rock, the blues have always been the foundation of his playing and have always been included in his performances. Recently in 2026 joining The Daytona Beach Blues Society he often works with fellow blues musicians, young and old who are keeping the blues alive and well. Greg B. is dedicated to his music and live pefomances and they are something special, not to be missed.
